Welcome to our Auto Etch website. Auto Etch has been around for “More than 20 Years” according to the original owner, Mr. Stacey Stone. Perhaps best known for their innovative “DIY or Do-It-Yourself” VIN Etching Kit, the Auto Etch company over the years also built up a strong and loyal customer base of wholesale and retail customers consisting of car dealers, auto glass shops and others providing this valuable auto theft deterrent called glass ID Etching. For a number of years, Stacey had been buying supplies and equipment from Bruce Bodenstein, the owner of a company called Mark-N-Gard, Inc. Although some of our competitor’s claim to be the “original etching company”, Mark-N-Gard can document that they have been providing vehicle glass etching products since the early 1980’s. In fact, we have in our files an “actual catalog” from NAPA Auto Parts, showing the Mark-N-Gard VIN Etching DIY Kit prominently on one of its pages. Back to the Auto Etch story… Over time, these friendly competitors became friends and when Stacey Stone began searching for a purchaser of his Auto Etch company, it was natural to approach Bruce Bodenstein with the idea early on. It was an easy sell, as Bruce Bodenstein could readily see the benefit of linking these two quality organizations and when Stacey offered to act as consult and advisor for the 1st 18 months of the transition, it quickly became a “done deal”. In late 2004 the two entrepreneurs “inked the deal” over a handshake and bank check and the Auto Etch company formally became part of the Mark-N-Gard organization. The hallmark of Auto Etch as it has been with Mark-N-Gard, Inc. since the early 1980’s, is and will always be our determination to provide excellent customer service 24/7. Bruce Bodenstein, always the innovator in Vehicle ID Security Systems, continues the tradition of the best and lowest wholesale pricing begun by Stacey many years ago.
